Ever take one over the bow ?

Anchored off NJ Highlands a few miles offshore in mostly 2' - 4' ocean chop.
Tide vs wind was making it rougher and chop was steep. A bigger set hit and " what the heck " right over the bow, splashed up and partly over the windshield and into cockpit. Oh - time to pull anchor............now would be a good time. |

many times we got water over the bow!!i love it when it has jusr enough to come to the top of the windshield and drop in your lap!!

I think at some point everyone who owns a cuddy has had that happen. The slow motion shovel in, toss it up, come down on the windshield and go back up and finally land on top of the crew. CLASSIC!
There is that certain chop that makes the stern rise and the bow dip right into the belly of the oncoming wave. You learn not to go head in at idle speed. Gotta goose it and get the bow up. And never anchor in that. You have to get your fat butt on the bow and make it worse! My crew knows its coming when I say "Shiiip!" |

Several times a year I seem to get a couple good ones that put the bow right thru the wave or come down in the hole and cut the next wave in half and solid green water and clear up over my top----
	Did I say how much I love my top----well I do---no more in the lap---LOL |
