Don't count out the 140 OMC, it is one STRONG 140HP. I know my 140 on my 19' BOWRIDER outran a guy in a 18 GLASSTREAM with a 175 EVINRUDE on the back, and to top it off I had 5 people in the boat to him being by himself. Might you have been tinkering a might w/your 140?...LOL!!...I had a 140 on a 17' Thunderbird before the V-20...OK performance, but on best day wouldn' outrun a 175...w/him loaded and me light...
