I had not heard about the bottle, if that is the case I would highly suspect that the husbands actions and statements to the press with his attorney denying he had ever even seen her drunk in all the years they were married etc etc is a full legal defense posture at this time. Because you have two nieces killed and the poor people in the other car, someone is being sued big time here.
