congrats on the new V randleman! definetly change the impeller...also buy new thermostats..they could be sticking...or pull them and test them and run it without the thermostats to see if thats the prob.

I am trying to make notes as I go.

I will check the thermostats cause it is spraying water harder than I've ever seen on an outboard. I will solicit help when I get ready to do that.

This morning I went out to charge the battery, hooked it up to the charger and the needle on the charger went all the way up. Figured must be a bad batt so I unhooked it and pulled it out. Checked the water levels and all were ok. Hooked charger back up and it acted normal.

When I put it back in I noticed when I placed one of the red accessory wire on the post it sparked, but all switches are off. Apparently there is a short somewhere in the wiring.

I will have to run it again to see if that short was messing up the sensors.

It might have an automatic float switch wired in to run on constant power, or maybe a radio with a clock in it. It doesn't take much of a draw(around 10 MA) to make a spark when you connect the terminal.

Well, so much for the electrical problem theory. I'll be starting a new topic on the Merc.
