I'm beginning to attempt to set up a website for my wife's business, and was wondering if any of you guys have set up a website before? I began by searching for a domain name, looking at register.com, networksolutions.com, and finally godaddy.com. Godaddy seems to be the cheapest for at least getting a domain name registered.
This is my first time doing this -- anyone have any suggestions? Thanks! |

GoDaddy is cheap and they've done well for my company. If you're planning on setting up a site mainly for friends/family, images, etc. then their economy plan should do you right.
https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/hosti...%2B&ci=260 I'd suggest buying your domain and hosting service from the same company, one less bill to pay. Just my .02... I'm sure others have had decent experiences with others. /Dan |

Actually I plan on setting up a few pages for her business. I am considering godaddy, but also our local phone/web provider.

If going local ask for their uptime percentages, they should be in the 99% range if you're planning on hosting business related pages. This is the amount of time the network is accessible, it should not be down for more than 1% of the time.
These days it's getting easier to get a decent quality hosted account, I don't think you'll go wrong if you purchase from any of the domain providers you listed above or with a reputable local service provider. |

I used RegisterFly last time. I have about 7 domains under them and no problems so far.
