Default quicky

Was a super nice day out today. Should have taken the boat out, but decided to do a quick paint job. Repainted the floor that had been annoying me all summer. Gonna add a second coat Thursday and maybe try and paint the sides, but not impressed with any of the boat paints. Seem not to cover well on the sides and also run. Plus at $32.00 a quart for Interlux, it sholl roll itself on by itself.
Hoping to get out this weekend, Suposed to be nice all week.

Teak needs a major staining. Looks like such a pain in the A$$ to remove the doors and side trim. Wanna stain it once and leave it alone for good. Not sure if you can teak and then add a one coat exterior gloss finish that stays for good.

Make new doors from startboard and never worry again!!

I like the way wood looks, But I hate taking care of it!! There is no time or room for wood on might boat!!

Use Sikkens Cetol Marine Light on your teak, it looks great. Cetol is a satin finish. There is a Cetol Gloss top coat, but I think it's for interior use only. The Cetol has a stain in it so it will brighten up the gray wood.

Oh yes, it's cheap, too. All that wood took 2 quarts to do 3 coats on everything. The stuff was on sale for $20 a quart at West Marine.

Try stripping the teak down to remove the gray and then apply three coats of McCluskey’s Man-O-War gloss.
It works well for me and lasts a long time.

Here is a teak hatch.

Here is oak rails.
