Im with ya Frank!! There are a bunch of idiot boaters around here too and we do have a mandatory course. You have to take it and get a "V" for vessel stamped on your drivers license. I think it has helped, but not eliminated the problem.

One of our biggest problems in people with more money than sense. AKA the 15 year olds (that have taken the course) doing 60mph in daddys 1000hp Contenders and Regulators down the ICW with no regard to anyone else. I cant imagine a father who would let a teen off the dock with that kinda boat, but in most cases "daddy" is just as incompetant so it makes little difference if he is there or not. >:(

Gotta agree with you guys, they are everywhere.
In Delaware, they rent pontoon boats to people and give them a quickie overview.
The peopel speed through no wakes and swamp the little guys.

I think that boat registration should be dependent
on showing the safe boater card.
