Default I'm new here and have a question.

Hello everyone my name is keith and I have a very nice 86 v20 with a 2001 yamaha 200. I love it. I was looking for a light motor because when I stand in the back of the boat water backs up in the cockpit from the overboard drains. Are there any suggestions??

I'm a serious fisherman that haunts the Chesapeake Bay.

Thanks
Keith

I had the same problem for a while on my V21 cuddy....

So I stored the cooler with beer in the cuddy, stayed in the bow area of the boat and went to weightwatchers.. :-[ :-*

No, this one has less than 50 hours. Baby born last year caused me not to be able to fish much. This year will be different. The boat had a 200 merc and I still had the problem, this new Yamaha is about 40 pounds more than the merc. which has made the problem slightly worse. I could go on a diet but I don't think I could lose enough to make a difference. Maybe I need to put MORE beer in the cabin.

That should do it ! My friend with 225 optimax had to move his batterys foward into his center console . It helped a little .

I think Keith is basically catching on to the problem he's having and on the right way to solve it with storing more beer up front...

Be careful though, not to start drinking more of it, 'cause that might aggrevate the problem. ;D
unless you counterbalance:
Store two 6-packs up front for every one you drink

Four kegs forward with 20' vinyl tubes aft. Add to trim.

welcome keithboyd,

i don't have that problem with the v21's raised floor, but i can tell you that the anchor platform/roller system and my anchor and chain added about 70 lbs to my bow and that counterbalanced perfectly my aprox. 70 lb kicker.

made enuff of a diff that my boat doesn't top speed on a calm day with the motor tilted all the way in any more. Now i max out with the motor trimed out a notch or two.
Fuller range of operating trim with that extra weight on bow.

I've put plugs in mine, in the floor, and pull them when needed and when the boat is on the trailer. Best solution I could find.
