Default Installing fuel tank under the deck 73-V20 (pics)

Redi Dog requested these for anyone looking to bury that tank and get a smaller console.

First you cut then you dig...and dig...and dig!!

I found this tank out back of my buddies shop
look it f#in fits!!

Added Penske board bulkheads to hold in the tank- and fiber puttyied the floor to the contour of the tank bottom. note the rubber mat. Adding some mat and cloth and re-glassing the stringers is a bonus for any 30yr old boat.

last thing is strapping it down with alum. strips with rubber between fill the space around it with expanding foam fron a can and you should be good for a while. I ran the filler up where that cinderblock is sitting...best I could do--installed a pvc chase to keep water out of the hull. You can see it in the corner under the block. The deck was then glassed in place (no wood...I used Penske board). that's it!!!

OTF, great post. What kind of shape were the stringers in, any rot?

Tin, the stringers were fine, and dry. The cloth over them was loose and the foam was pretty saturated forward and aft. Dirty job shoveling foam (i used a shovel)

THANKS GUYS!!
