Default Bombardier Etec Engines Good Article

www.theboatingnews.com Bombardier Reinvents The 2 stroke. Good article on this engine, lighter, will rope start with no battery (magneto) within one revolution, sealed fuel system, sips oil, fewer moving parts, no maint. for 3 yrs. Can't wait to see what the price for 150hp will be. Crusher

Hey Crusher...thanx for the Evinrude E-TECH article...sounds like 2-strokers are not dead afterall...i am really impressed with everything i've heard/read about Bombardier and their comitment to cutting edge technology and QUALITY QUALITY QUALITY...I'm like you...lookin' forward to pricing...my local dealer has been tellin' me E-TECH was coming....in the face of 4-strokes, I'd buy one of these new Evinrudes tomorrow...I think they've de-bugged two-strokes!

Reelapeelin, I'm not sold on the four strokes yes they are quite and get good fuel milage, but they don't rev as fast and have to many moving parts cams, valves etc., and weigh more. Even the redone Fitch's engines where as quite, used very little oil, and got as good or better fuel milage and performance. This year you will be able to purchase E - Tec up to 90HP. Will be interesting to match these prices against other Mafg. of the same HP. I can't beleive it, but I heard that the new engines may be cheaper, because there are a lot less parts? Crusher

Too many choices in the new engine market today. :-/

I am hoping my 94 yammie :-*has enuff years left, so that evolution will work it's wonder (survival of the fittest) on all these new-fangled motors. I have absolutely no desire to help fund the research and development departments of any of these fine companies.

While there are many fine 4 Stroke motors on the market today, Give me a well design 2 Stroke and i'm happy. Look at all the problems that have cropped up over the last couple years with the newer technology. Even with a lot of the newer 2 Strokes. They start messing around with fuel injection. One company says High pressure, direct injection is best. The next company says low pressure is the way to go. ??? ??? ??? Until they can figure out what they're doing, I'll take a well made 2 Stroke carburated motor any day.
