Default Bow Light

Hello All,
Just posted a few new pics in the gallery and this is pretty much it as far as refurbishing/changes go.
My bow navigation light is inop and there appears to be a short in the wiring. The problem I have is from the cabin I can't locate the wiring that goes from the light to the dash. is it up under that headliner? Or behind the side panels next to the bunks? I could just run a new set of wires but they would be visible from inside the cabin. Any help would be appreciated.

Capt J.

I am doing the same project on my V20 too. I was thinking of running the new wire past the anchor rode locker and then up. I will be watching this post for someone in the know to answer with the exact location of those wires myself .

SK moved his lights. Go to the modification section and go to the post on anchor roller. First post on page four answers my same question from page three. Bill Mc ;D

Well stripminer looks like mac gave us our answer. Under the dang headliner >:(
My cabin is in great shape so I will not follow suit and rip the headliner off but will find a workaround.

All,

I just finished repariring my wiring and got my lights to work !!!! ;D
I can tell you that if you have the factory wiring in place that you are looking for two grey wires, one has blue piping the other white piping. Those are your anchor and bow lights.
You might want to check for continuity using a mulit-meter ( use a spare wire to span the distance of the deck to the lights contact ) that way you will know which, if any, wire is shorted.
I discovered today that after getting it all wired that my contacts were corroded and only needed a blasting of sandpaper ! Good luck let us know how you made out !
I also own the coolest tool that I got at HD for $10.00, an electrical snake. That lil sucker has saved me more heart ache and busted knuckles than I can tell you . Its a thin, wide strip of metal ( picture a measuring tape but thicker ) that bends around corners and is plenty strong enough to pull on. I used it to pull my new steering cable this year . You might need one to pull that new wire. Again , good luck !!
