Not the doel fin, but yes to the stingray hydrofoil.

I noticed your old rude had one on it.

Maybe, why your old tired rude has such a great performance gap over the new 4 banger. Add the stingray and you will narrow the gap,IMHO.

I agree. I've used both the Doel Fin and the Stingray. IMO the Stingray beats the Doel Fin hands down. It's got a more efficient profile to give more lift. Better out of the hole performance and reduces any porpoising ya might get. Also helps to bite when making sharp turns at speed to reduce the risk of cavitation or ventilation.

I wish I had tryed the new set up with out the whale tail!!
I have always had one since I bought the boat, It was the first thing I added.
But when I converted to the outboard I never tryed it without, I just took it off the I/O and installed before I used it.
But it handled just fine and the same as before. So I guess it works just fine as it made a great difference when I did it ti the I/O

Macojoe, it's not like you can't take it off to see.
If you do, I'll bet you won't have it off for long

to much trouble for me to bother!! I know it works just fine!!
But when the boat was a I/O it was a 165 hp at the engin, about 140 or so at the prop.
The outboard is a 175 hp which makes a big big difference!! So just wondering how the boat would have gone with the extra hp with no tail.
But I am happy and there is no need for me to take it off.
