I don't know much about used outboard pricing but, for comparison, the book value of my 2006 V6 Ford Explorer, runs great no rust, is $4100 and it was $30K+ new.

Outboards....when YOU have one to sell they aren't worth much HOWEVER, when you are looking to buy they cost a fortune. I guess it is more than just outboards. I digress.

Yep, you can tell by the other engines he has in the pictures that's what he does for either a living or to supplement his income. I've run across several people like that. and the really funny thing is they get upset if you want more money, but have no problem after they get the engine of charging more...

I bought mine for 3000 and has 220 hours on it. Thats controls and analog gauge. 5000 sounds pretty high to me. That motor should be in the 3000 to 4000 dollar range. Any warranty with it? You need to look that motor over good before you buy. Research df140 issues and you will learn alot about what to look for. Its a badass motor....i love mine. I average about 4 miles to the gallon with mine.

I love my Johnzuki 140 four stroke.
You rarely see a used one for sale because everyone who has them loves them. NADA says average retail is $4125 for an 06, so $5k isn't outrageous for a clean, low hour motor.

Bought it
![]() $5k for motor, controls, ss prop and install.(so with the install i basically paid $4250 for the motor) It started right up on a 30 degree afternoon, showed 293 hours on the computer. |
