those must be the ones i see in the fish markets called Sea scallops or diver scallops. they are much bigger than bay scallops. rkc is right, would be a sin to fry those, great on the grill though.

i am jealous of your cheaper lobster prices. around here your looking at $20 a pound at walmart.
i guess every neighborhood has it's advantages..

Some of the local supermarkets had new shell lobsters last week for $3.99/lb

We have both sizes!! Small Bay scallops and the larger sea scallops, I love the Bay!! there is a place here called the NO Name restaurant and they have the greatest ones I have ever eaten!! I love what we call the milk, I love the juice!!!!!!!!I use to get them all the time when friend pete had his clam farm!!

Say's you!!!!! Believe it or not, we like our sweet tea too. Believe it or not, we're not all city folk up here guys. I just got home from my son-in-law's yearly sweetwater fishing derby. Afterwards it was a 1/2 keg of ice cold beer (sweet tea too), ribs, pulled pork and a whole mess of pan fried fish, slaw, tater salad. Wooooo son! I need a nap right now.

Went a couple weeks ago, murkey water but we found them eventually. Nothing like it fresh!

garbubba, do you guys get them that far west? i knew mobile bay had a decent population at one time.
i just noticed your from vancleave, home of mac mcanally. i worked in pine island back in the early 80's.

Nice Chum sounds like my kind of party!!!

Now are we just puttin sugar in the tea and calling it sweet like my last trip up north or yall actually breweing it sweet?

My son-in-law brews it. He and a couple of the guys that fished the tournament are on a local BBQ competition team. They brew the tea to go with their offerings at the competitions and of course special events like last weekend.
