white gold
this probably won't mean much to the northern brothers, but we went prospecting in st joe bay wed. weather was great, but the water was very dirty. had heard good reports so after a little scouting, we managed to get these home and in the peanut oil tonight.
http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/o...ps43f18bf3.jpg after 3 hours, we managed 4 gallons out of a 6 gallon limit, but the meat was good size, netting 3 pints. lotta fun and great eating w homemade onion rings, jalapeno cole slaw, & baked beans. |
YUMMMY you had a good day
|
Now why would you think it won't mean much to us "northern brothers"? Do you think we don't enjoy or know good eats?
|
agree. we don't get them up here like that but we sure do eat them sh!ts when we do. we also like onion rings, slaw and beans.
|
guess he shoulda said inland brothers.... what the heck IS that? LOL
|
It doesn't mean as much to anyone that have had Nantucket scallops. Not sure why, but they are the tastiest scallops!
Please don't fry them... rkc |
i know you guys don't get to harvest them fresh. that's north florida bay scallops. get them from st joe bay east to crystal river. super sweet.
rkc, frying is the preferred method, but sauteing in butter & white wine is my favorite. these are not like the larger ones ya'll get up north, these are about the size of the tip of your index finger. lotta work, but a lotta fun also. |

"Guess you haven't been to Martha's Vineyard"
never been to the land of long pants, i don't go north of I-10. I know you guys have a large scallop fleet that drags for them, but didn't know you snorkled for them |
We don't snorkel for them, but a lot of guys dredge them by hand and or have shellfidsh grants.
