Default Signature Finish Paint

Spoke with the owner of Signature finish Paint in Florida. He claims that his paint will go over lightly sanded fiberglass and directly over epoxie resin. Not even so much as a degreaser wax remover is needed. And it is repairable. Has anyone used this product. sounds to good to be true and you know how that usually goes!!

I believe everything he mentioned except for not using any wax or degreaser product. Step one is using soap and water or power washing and solvent wash before and after sanding.
But then again this is the internet!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually spoke to a couple of people who have used this product. They have only great things to say about it. one did use primer he said only because he had it. both people have had this product on their boat for more than 3 years and are very happy with it. one even said it was easier to use than interlux and Sterling. i decided to repair all the crazing and dock rash on the V then paint it. i think i am going with Signature Finishes. As far as the epoxy goes i'm still on the fence between System three, west system and mas epoxy. has any body used the mas epoxy?

I've heard only good things as well but haven't actually used it yet. I would be interested in hearing your impressions if you use their product. I also understand it can be a little expensive, have you got a estimate of cost for the material needed to cover the V? Are you painting the entire hull or just above the water line. Are you going to apply via roll and tip or spray?

Kamikaze when i spoke to the owner of Signature we were both on cell phones and it was very hard to understand him ,he said the price but i told him i t was hard to hear and i would call him back today . I am going to paint the hull from the bottom paint up to the rubrail the popular Fighting lady yellow and then from the rubrail up onto the top of the gunnel's a white close as i can get to the original gelcoat . not sure how that will work out yet the boat is covered and i'll have to take a closer look and plan it out. I may just have to paint all the way down to the deck. I think i will be rolling and tipping, people that i have spoken to have done both and say they have had great results either way. they have also said this paint goes a long way. i know its not the cheapest on the market but being able to buff it and make repais will be well worth it. I will let you know about the price tonight i hope.

Spoke with 2 more guys today that have used the paint, one of which claims that he has been using Signature finish for 20 years and swears by it and has done repairs with no problem's. He painted his current boat 7 years ago and is still looking good . So i am sold! Kamikazi, i just spoke to the owner again, he quoted me a price of 300.00 for the hull and top side paint. when i say top side i mean the gunnels and on top of the cabin. i dont know if this is more or less than the others but i cant imagine its that much more or less. please feel free to chime in, thanks

Make sure you post pics of process you use and the results. I would be interested in seeing them!
