Woke up nice and early for the 1st tog/black fish trip of the season, only to be welcomed with SSW winds @ steady 10-15 with higher gust. Sat and look @ the boat for about 15 minutes, and decided to roll the dice and get home early before the kids and wife wake up so I can go in the after noon ;D.
The dice roll finaly paid off! Winds died to about 5-10 and besides a few sprinkles here and there the weather was nice. A decent swell gave us a bit of a challenge and I took a non-fishing buddy out for his first black fish trip and we limited out with in a hour with fish to 24 inches (not sure what that would way ::) ???) Two chinners @ 22 and 24 inches Sky was insane with the sun dipping in and out between showers ![]() On the way back in I spotted a sea duck the was in a bit of trouble, decided to pick her/him up and try and give it some fresh water and get it to the local bird sangshwary ![]() ![]() Unfortunetly she died before we got to the mooring and was giving a proper berral @ sea.

No scale, my buddie I usually fish with has one and I never really needed to know the weight of the fish, I usually go by, "its a decent fish" to "Yeah thats a big one *;D" But, as I send out my $20.00 entrance fee today for the contest, I will be going to the shop and picking up a scale ;)
Yeah CY, seeing the duck struggling to keep its head out of the water just was not right. After I poored alitle fresh water down her throat, she livend up a bit, and I thought we were going to be able to save her. I figured she died a litle more comfortable on the boat, then she would have struggling, and drowing in the water :-/
