Destroyer, I can't imagine the mental taxation you're experiencing. Keep your chin up. We're praying for ya.

Thumbs up

Anyone ever tell you guys that you're the best? It's true you know.

We're holding in there. The newest flooding doesn't seem to be nearly as bad as Irene. (Of course, nothing we've ever experienced before was as bad as Irene, so that may be an understatement). The water is presently in the street and about a third of the way up our driveway. I put up the first barrier this morning, so the water will have to come all the way up our drive and then up 2 feet of steel wall in order to enter the house through the garage. Truthfully, since anything that's still in the ground floor is wet and ruined already, it's not really that big a deal if it gets into the house again... except... that the boiler which supplies us with heat and hot water is located down there and would get soaked again. I got the thing running a few days ago, so we don't have to go to my wifes parents house in Clifton for showers, etc. There's nothing like a nice hot shower to wash off the stink of working on tearing off wallboard and paneling and rugs and furring and studs and etc etc etc... that are smelly and starting to grow all kinds of pretty strains of mold and mildew. I swear I found a new strain of mushrooms in the rec room .... and they were shooting a game of pool!!!
As to the ins companies, turns out that the blanket coverage I have covers me for just about everything on the planet, except for flood damage. So it's more like a throw pillow rather than a blanket.
We have flood ins also, so it's not as bad as it sounds. Running out of space, so will continue this in a second post if I run out of space on this one. Waiting on the flood ins company to send an adjuster here. THey are swamped (no pun intended) with claims so it's understandable they are running behind, and the guy did call me to let me know that I'm on the list and in the Q. But until then I really can't start throwing out a lot of stuff that has to go, because he needs to see it, etc. (Things like the washer, dryer, etc) I've gotten most of my tools dried off and the drawers of my toolbox dry and WD-40'ed so rust will be kept to a miniuum (I hope)...but I keep finding new stuff to clean ... so it feels like a losing battle at times. Lost several fish finders, radios, etc that were in milk crates on shelves..<sigh>...
Lumber, the construction co that I work for is called Russo Development. We build large warehouses, data centers, and rental units. I would not be surprised if you had done some work for one of them, since one of them has a summer home in Loveladys. Very good company to work for. THey play fair. They expect that everyone is doing their job, they reward those that do, and cut loose those that don't. Can't ask for better than that.
TO everyone, I am humbled by your well wishes, kind thoughts and prayers. They really do mean a lot. Both Bev and I thank everyone of you for them. In Christ...

Hang in brother fishing days are coming,

Ive only experienced flooding in my basement two times and they they were both due to plumbing leaks, which only amounted to two inchs at most... but at the two inches feels like an ocean.
