Default Overhead Picture

Not the best pic, but I managed to climb a big pine tree out in the back yard to snap this beauty. I darn near fell out of the tree!

Just kidding, I took the pic out of my kitchen window :P :-*

I should have had my electronics showing :-[
I've also got to get some seating installed!!

Thats the same exact set up as mine!! But I still have the engine cover from the I/O

I also put removable seat posts in so I can remove the seats when I want to!! I like driving standing up most of the time and when I wire Jig I like the seat out the way!!

I will have to get a shot of mine from the window when I get the cover off!

The OMC needs some control cable adjustment. I don't think I'm getting all she has. Had her on the lake on Sunday and GPS showed top speed at 27mph.

I don't even want to think about this, but is it possible a cylinder is not firing?

First thing I'll check is the control cables. Then I need to get the tach hooked up so I can see how what's goin on.

Other than slowness at WOT, she comes out of the hole ok and cruises nicely.

I'll get ya'll some better pics - I promise!!

140 HP 27 mph?? Seems to me thats all your going to get?? Maybe a hair more?

I had the 165 I/O and they say at the prop that was like 130 to 140 and Thats just about what I got all the time I think I hit 30 once or twice??

But now with the 175 outboard I cruz at 30 top out at 38 or so I did mange 40 a couple of times but that was when I was alone with no load and just had a small amount of gas.

BR i'd check your prop. I had a bad head gasket that caused me not to get full rpms once too. But changing my prop has always had the biggest impact on rpms. Does it sound like you're getting too many rpms (too small a prop and would kill top end) or does it sound like the motor is not developing full rpm potential (maybe too big a prop)?

A little trend starting to pick up right now are bean bag chairs for the boat, like so...

http://www.e-searider.com
(I have no personal or commerical interest in this company.)

I think it came up as a way to provide seating in the cockpit of the big sportfishers. So the crew can be outside and comfortable for the run offshore, but the chairs can be thrown into the salon in seconds when it's time to put lines in. Anyway, just a thought. ;D
