Oh well I almost fubar my V yesterday..

I slammed my V into a sandbar at 36 MPH so hard the engine flew up and out the water, came to a complete stop almost toss my passengers overboard. Thank God I am happy to report no damage to the hull or transom.
I carefully examined the transom for cracks and the bottom for gouges I found nothing at all. I guess I am really lucky.
I know on various other sites the ARJAY or other composite transom has been questioned and critique in regards to strength, I can sincerely say I am AMAZED to see its durability and strength ...
So hard was the impact it took off the paint on the LU which was media blasted,primed and painted. I will post a picture later...BTW I ignore the clear alarm on my depth sounder minutes before this happen we were sight seeing in the Indian River with the kids and friends. Lesson learned..Rookie mistake I guess...

that sucks that you ran aground. It's good that nobody got hurt though. I can't tell you how many times that I have seen people get hurt after a hard grounding. I run my boat through some skinny water all the time. Only ran aground once. All I had to do was trim the motor out, get out and push the boat to deeper water. Were you able to get off by yourself or did you have to call for help?

OUCH!!! on the grounding... Glad that you, your passengers and the boat all survived ok. I have my depth alarm set for 5 feet. I get into shallow water lots of times and when it hits 5 feet I know to slow down to slightly more than a no-wake speed.. Just seems the prudent thing to do. Anyone that's ever fished Barnaget Bay ...(especially near the inlet).. knows what I'm talking about. Happy that all you lost was some paint.

It is suprising how well built these boats are. I accidently rolled mine off the trailer at the boat launch right onto the hard concrete ramp. There was a loud thud and splash and the boat just slid back into the water. Was surprised the boat was floating in one piece much less undamaged when I looked back. Gotta love them roller trailers!

Thanks for the kind words Guys it helps especially when I feel like a fool for defying all logics and gut feeling not to mention the alarm blasting !
I felt I really dodge a bullet here .. As for the rescue I trim main engine up, moved the crew and coolers towards the cuddy and she kinda purr along until I found 3 feet of water. I then slowly troll back to the main channel.
As for pictures I really wish I took my camera since we saw lots of manatee's and dolphins right next to the Boat.
My kids thought the grounding was cool !!

hey ny, welcome to the club, i did the same thing going under the bridge to big pine key with traffic stopped on the bridge. i was looking up at those poor suckers stuck on a hot bridge and me on a boat heading to looe key for some diving. next thing i know, we come to a screeching halt and everyone is on the bridge blowing horns and clapping

Glad no one was hurt. You must have schooled your passengers well about sitting down firmly or, if standing, holding on tight to something. Good thing no one got tossed.

Good thing no body or vessel was injured! I was on the back of a jet ski when my buddy did the same thing on a rock ledge at Lake Powell. Sent my face into the back of his head, I then rolled of the side and twisted up my knee. I was sore but not seriously hurt. It is a good thing I was young (around 13 I think), if it happened today I am sure I would have some sort of serious knee injury and 6 mo. recovery!

Glad to hear no one was hurt, we have come to call that "running out of water".

I have done that already, but I was going slow at the time
and I ran into a mud bank. Pulled lots of mud into the engine
and overheated, but all turned out ok.
