Thanks Lumber, yeah that beaded siding is nice. Kinda has a double lock, cuts down on siding blowing off. It;'s a pain to lock it in, but I know it wont ever blow off.

Cfelton: not sure what size box I have. I think the house might be only 100 amps ??
Future problem I might see is that the wifey wants a hot tub, in the future, and I believe that takes a 220 line. Might hav eto upgrade the whole wiring in the house.
Can I run a 220 line off a 100 amp line ??
I dont know crab about electric. I was thrown about 20 ft. some years ago when wiring up my dryer. : )

Breaker box. Tight on breaker space, hoping to get some piggy back breakers to open up some space..

You can barley see the line coming off the pole to the house, but once at the house, the power line is hidden behind the corner post and under the soffit.
Would hate to tear aa that siding down to upgrade the power to the house. Lefty might have to wait on the hot tub till HAMMER gets some more $$$$$

By quickly viewing your elec. panel, you have 220 already. The double breakers towards the top that say heat, those are 220. Are they still used? I see you have a single marked furnace, which is correct. Hate to break it to you and I'm no electrician, but you can install the hottub. Mine can be used as either 110 or 220V, currently using a dedicated 20 amp circuit. Costs about $40/ month in electric when in use.

Find a licensed electrician...

A friend and co-worker of mine was killed when leaning over his dryer trying to unplug it. This was 15 years ago. He had been outside digging a ditch to run a drain from his washer, got a nice sweat worked up and when he went to uplug the dryer his finger touched a post. They found him slumped over the dryer with current still running through him. So sad.

Thanks for the good, but sad news on the panel. Looks like I'll be working overtime for the hot tub.

Mike, I have a hot tube as do many friends of mine. Most people get them and put them outside, this makes it much more costly to heat and keep clean. Many want to just give them away after a few years. If I wanted one I would keep an eye on the "free" listing in craigslist. Also mine is inside, this is very nice because it makes it so easy to use or just to keep empty. By the way, women love em!

Well, he's in a better place...you were VERY lucky!! I have the utmost respect for electrical current, partly because of what happened to "Gooby" (that was his nickname, cool, cool, fella). Goob would have been a millionaire after his dad passed some years later. His twin brother inherited the money but then he was killed in a motorcycle accident. Their dad owned a little Julery (won't let me spell it correctly) store. When he passed, his son found out that he had property all over the place that none of the family knew about. A couple of the properties were BIG lake-front homes.
