That's some fun fishing garagenc. Glad your sone was able to put bad times behind him, even for just a short time.

Stinky, as mentioned here in Chuck's thread, some of us up north get some big bruisers including a fairly large one myself.

Thats crazy. I bet a 20# bluefish fights like a damn freight train. Even a 3-4lber when Im snapper fishing offshore tugs pretty good on 30lb gear. Let alone when I hook one inshore speck fishing or somthing.

I had a few of those brutes the other night. After loosing three fluorocarbon leaders, and hook and bait, I said "that's it". Went with a tie able wire leader and ended up landing four fish, three of which went 10-12 lbs. I was in the tin boat and they actually drag the boat around with ease. Fun to catch, but my bluefish never make it to the table. It's all C & R with them.

Thats great to hear. Last year I took my daughter and father out striper fishing just off Va. Beach. We hooked into a big fish and as my daughter faught that fish we had another two poles go off. It was busy on the water so my dad had to drive the boat as I helped my daughter fight her fish. When she finally got it up it was a big blue fish which was a disapointment because we want a big rock fish. I netted the fish and handed her another pole to fight as a delt with the blue. I once again commented on how big it was and then slung it back in the water. She got in her other fish which was a nice striper and my father reeled in the other nice striper. We got the lines back in and started trolling. A guy came over the radio asking what was citation for a blue and someone answered with both catch and release and keep numbers. Thats when I realised that my daughts blue was an easy catch and release citation but it was too late. It just never dawned on me to check as we had other fish on the lines.

Still
Let me know when you are going Stripper fishing this season and I'll drag my V up there and put out at Owls Creek ramp and maybe we can fish together that day. Let me know. I can go any day most of the time.
