Default new toys

The griswalds are hitting the road for our every other year trip to the Florida Keys.(We used to go every year for a week, but 40% of the cost is getting there & back, so now we go every other year for 2 weeks) I bought a new camera for the adventure & have a new (to me) Garmin 2010C w/ sounder. My old unit is a plotter no charts & i am really looking forward to getting to use this new one it is fantastic.

Coool!!!!!!!!!!

We look like the Beverly Hillbillies with this rig

I will try to keep posting some shots of the V in Paradise

Phat, you guys have a good safe trip. I love that GPS you got there! Nice!

Also, you seem to have everything in order with your trailer - you shouldn't have much worry over a flat tire or 3.

I never had any tire trouble until a couple of years ago. i had Goodyear marathons that came with the trailer. they looked great, lotsa tread, etc. anyway i blew 2 going down, not a big deal, i have everything to do it quick. the bad thing is when i used the spare, i didn't feel comfortable until i had replaced it. so i spent about 3 hours pulling on & off the turnpike hunting one. this way, i have 3 shots in my gun before I have to reload.
i'm sure its overkill
i also have 4 spare hubs that are greased & packed with new bearings
hope i don't need any of them..........

It pays to be prepared. I trailered about 260 miles last weekend, then had a flat tire in the driveway the next afternoon? Glad it went down at home instead of on the roadside when it was 100*....and yes, I had the spare and tolls to change it out.

slot, that just means you had some good karma coming you way. i'll never complain about trouble in the driveway. had a friend that drove a fifthwheel rig from key west to the house in one day (750 miles), parked out front, went to bed. got up the next day to move it & broke a crankshaft in the motor..

Looking good and it's the perfect time of the year to go get some Dolphin (dorado) in the Florida Keys. Don't forget your polarized sunglasses. You all will have a great time! Were a you staying at?

we're at Bahia Honda state park. we haven't stayed there in a while, so i need some fishing tips if anybody has any. last trip we stayed in big pine on dr's arm and the trip before that we were in Key Colony in Marathon.

i hope to get some tarpon under the 7 mile bridge or spanish channel. i have also heard there is a good grouper bite if you troll the bridges.

Phat, check out this link to the Miami Herald's fishing report on Thursdays. It includes the Keys and what the fishing captains are reporting. You may want to gear up for Dolphin and Tuna. Do you have any fishing charts for the area with numbers to artificial reefs?
