Yikes. I've heard of 'as is', but not cleaning up leaves and pine needles is begging for it not to be sold. ::)

Too bad it's an I/O. I was gonna put on my very best suit and offer the guy a nice crisp 100 dollar bill for it. And not a penny more. ;D Actually, I just may take a looksee ... that anchor system looks interesting. :) |

Yipes! From the registration sticker on the port side, I'd say gas and all other fluids will be an issue. Still great lines though.

Seakindly, Buy this boat part it out, look at all the parts people have been looking for in the past. Steering wheel, front sliding cuddy covers, steering wheel, rear hatch covers, floor covers Windshield glass and moldings, cuddy doors i/o parts, trailer can't be to old with plastic fenders and a windless to boot! Crusher

Crusher - I like the way you think, but storage space is an issue for me these days. BS - Let me know when you can pick it up. ;) |

FYI - I dont live close (am in northern CT) but took the trip to see this boat .... as I really want to find a hull I can do an I/O to bracket conversion on. The price is right - but even still I left not so sure about the deal. The trailer is in OK shape (needs tires) but seemed a little short for the boat - and the boat was resting on a center cross-member rather than on a roller. The boat hull was OK, typical for its age, but there was a noticeable smell of oil and gas (maybe this would go away when the motor is removed ?). What really disappointed me was the cuddy did not have the nice glass walls, bulkhead enclosure at front of V, and the glass storage compartment in the center floor area as I've seen in some later MY pictures. There was just carpet on the sidewalls ... and when you lifted the center seat .. saw right to the fiberglass hull bottom (which was full of 8" of water. So, I dont know. I think I will keep looking ... though I suppose you cant expect much for $850. A question: I really like the idea of a full transom and motor on a bracket. Do people do this type of conversion to O/B hulls - or just I/O ? Brian

Brian, When I bought my V-20 I got it for a song because it has a Sea Drive on it. Nobody wants Sea Drives and even a running unit results in a discount in pricing (this was my experience anyway in Southwestern CT). If you can hang in there timingwise, you may get a great deal on a hull and not have the additional expense of glassing a transom before putting on a new bracket and motor. With the Sea Drive, all you have to do is get the new bracket and motor (as I plan to do once my Sea Drive does bite it). The full transom makes for a very spacious cockpit and you may luck into a full transom seat as I did. And if you do find a running unit, the OMC parts are easy to get.
