I have 2002 Chevy 1500 Just turned 112.000 and besides new U joints and tires I just added, I haven't had to anything else to it!

Well I did replace the rear springs with 3/4 ton springs, cranked T Bars and Extyended shocks so would tow better.
You got me there for a moment. I was positive that it was a 5.7, so even though I have the Flu I went out in the freezing rain.........yep, it says 5.7, mfg 02/2002

Is the new 6.0 the same old 5.7 with minor changes or a completely different engine? I know the 350/5.7 has served me well through a lot of trucks. I had a 305? in 79? that blew around 50K.

I don't know about the brand new stuff but 6.0 was total different motor then the 350.
My brother runs a 6.0 in his 2001 2500 GMC and now has 170.000 miles and has not had any problmes with the motor except the injectors cloging up one time when he started using the new gas, afte the cleaned them out its been fine.

I've had a pleasure in my life that it is unlikely my kids are going to have, I have owned Chevy trucks, Ford trucks and the use of one Dodge truck years ago that belonged to the guy I shared an apartment with when I got out of the army. Currently (and probably for a long time to come) own a F250 Super Duty which has been great.
I have also owned a Nissan 4x4 PU and a Toyota 4x4 Tacoma TRD that was a joy(especially off road)
Loved them all.
But driving an American built pickemup is a great pleasure period. And a hot chick driving one is one of the most beautiful of all of Gods creations:D:D
