Sorry your bud got slammed Oz. Tell him you know where to find a nice V for sale, it won't go 70 mph but he would look real good on the lake tied up along side Reelapeelin :)

that really sucks,
When I was a kid my father bought a brand new 1972 aristo craft with a 120 i/o merc we were in the delaware river running up around pettys island going 3/4 throttle and hit a submerged log or pipe ......ripped the out drive rite off the back of boat. damn near sunk before we got a tow to the boat ramp...... lucky dad had ins back in the day that was unheard of for a boat.......

Pulled into a ramp at Lake Murray several years ago...rigs lined up to get to ramp...unusual...looked past rigs to ramp and there sits a nice big F-250 duallie w/ an empty trailer, except for the bow of a 22' beauty of a CC was still on the rearmost center roller and the skeg of a 250 hp Merc holdin' the arse-end up...completely suspended in mid-air, sittin' on the skeg on one end and the bow on the roller on the other was a sight :o ....

some of the most entertaining video can be had at any busy launch ramp, especially on weekends, 9am-5pm. Many times I wished I had a camera handy. :o

Good example of that was another day at the ramp, this couple comes in on a brand new pontoon...wife jumps off, and does a perfect job of backin' the trailer down the ramp...hubby drives up on the trailer, kills the motor, stands up and says,"Go ahead"...she does and the pontoon does NOT ...she sees what is happening and stops, but not before the toon has come off the trailer to the point that when she stops, the toon is STANDING on 45* angle, skeg and rear of toons ON the concrete w/ bow way up in the air and hubby thrown into back of boat on his arse...3 of us went over and ran the winch strap up to the bow w/ two more bow-lines and pulled the toon back down and onto the trailer...she's nice, he never says thanks, kiss my butt, nothin'...broke the entire skeg off and busted off the transducer...it was danglin' on the wire as they pulled outta the parkin' lot...
