No idea what happened, every thing was running like a top.
No smoke, no noises until running at normal cruise about 3800 rpm and then splat. I would think where the hole is I threw a rod. ByGrace that is the same thing you had I guess. Now I have a big quandary, put a new motor on costing 14-18 thousand for a big block four or two stoke. On a fifteen year old boat? that even after I do it will only be worth about 10 grand. Take a chance on another used engine that I know nothing about? for who knows how much. Or spend thousands getting this one with a new power head rebuilt? I like the new idea but really can't afford it. I'm not a happy camper right now that is for sure.

Willy...man I feel bad for you right now...gut-wrenching to be sure...but I know you'll dig in and find the right solution...
If you want that 200 that Spare mentioned, I'll bring 'er up to you... Hey MJ...what became of the Yam you took off yours recently?...that was a pretty good motor and shouldn't be too heavy for Willy's boat... MJ does have a certain knack for comin' up w/some good used OBs... The best thing about new...WARRANTY!!... You'll be throttlin' up soon...I'm pretty sure about that...

sorry to hear Willy what could i say that has not been said.i will tell you one thing if at all possible get a new motor. because who could deserve it more than a man who worked all his life. last chance to go around when you get to our vintage!!!actually you got to be in good shape and health to take torture it gives out.
