I've putt putted w/ kicker in 18" of water w/o any problem. The one time I got stuck in 1',...I had everyone move to one side and we floated free.
Generally tho' I like 3' under it.

We got stuck on some flats and I could get the boat to run in 14" to 18" of water. It did not help much because the tide got us and then it got dark and we got lost but thats another story.
