Hey do any of you actually go out and sleep overnight in you cuddy cabins. I can see it would be a little cramped, but I think with enough pillows I could be comfy if it wasnt too rough. I know that one BIG benefit to the cabin and the layout of the v20 will be a dry ride, but I bought if with FULL intensions of catching an overnighter or two in it as well.
What do you guys think?

Not overnighted but 3 of us got of a driving rainstorm for 30 minutes one day. Lets just say it was crowded.
Could be done though. We usually watch fireworks on 4 july in the boat. Kids have slept in it many tiimes. Airslot

Yes, I usually spend a couple nights in it during the annual Canadian Sabbatical. 30 mile run from camp to some prime fishing areas makes it worthwhile. I find the cabin OK for one person and usually bow up to a beach to be out of any weather. My "filler" has been shortened a bit to allow easy access. Made a snap/velcro screen for the companionway, my boat is a '75 and they didn't have doors at the companionaway access back then. Brian |

I have the same boat as Brian, 75 no doors. I have layed in there once or twice just to relax when the fishing was slow.
Not to much room for the 300+ crowd!! Brian how is that I/O going??

MJ,
Knock on wood but the I/O has proven to be great despite my attempts to knowck the drive off while rock hunting. We had a few "issues" at first but after some fine tuning the straight six is running and more importantly reliable, although it is louder than I think it should be and loves gas! This winter I'm changing the engine controls, moving fuel tank vents and putting a new bimini on. |

Hmmm, never been rock hunting before. Do those show up as arches on the fishfinder?

Yea I moved the vents on mine also a few years ago.
My Yamaha is quieter then the I/O ever was!! And I think I get pretty close to the same gas I got with the 165?? Maybe a hair less, but it is not that noticeable. I have a Bimi but I think it hangs in the basement more then ever these days. I have never hit rocks before I went out with CB!! I said that looks shallow over there and i slow down, He goes you are just fine! So as I speed up just in time to grind the prop into the bottom :o He says I guess I wrong?? :-[

Blue,
The rocks show up fine as a solid line if you trust the fishfinder. I didn't believe the electronics since I was in the middle of the channel, I thought. Electronics aren't 100% accurate but the 3 foot outdrive is a great indicator of depth.....especially when the rotating part stops with a foul grinding noise. |

Better to trust your fish/depth finder and GPS rather than your first mate. Hmmmmmm MJ? ;D ::) :-*
