I had no plans to seal the hull.....it is the same surface as the rest of the bilge so I think it should not need anything. As for how I am securing it, I am still pondering different ideas.

Lumber...
I've solved my dilema about the steeting wheel. Talked to my dealer this morning. He gave me a kit the allows the helm to be recessed into the dash. We're gonna pull the motor Saturday morning at 0830 so that I can get the old steering out, and install the new rod. Wish it was the new motor going on, but maybe later this summer

Sounds like your making progress air, Iam not sure what my steerings going to look like. Iam sure its going to be ok, Glad to hear you figured out your gas smell, I thought the same thing this passed summer so I had all my hoses replaced and still had strong odor of gas so i decided to yank the tank out this winter and iam glad I did because it was corroded pretty bad around the seams .

whale, I asked the guy doing my work about sealing the area and he said the samething , no need sealing the hull
