Default Tops and railings

Hey guys, I new around here, I ran into someone giving away a free
V-20. It's a 1970 pretty much totally striped. I had an old ERD 85 that stuck on there... a bit under powered, but it will work for now. I took it out this weekend...
man I love this thing, it probably does between 25-30 mph and The chop is much softer.
Anyway, I like it so much I decided to put some money into comemetics!

I need a new railing, I have the cuddy model, If I replace it out of a westmarine catalog it'll cost me about 400 bucks, Any of you guys know where to get good deals on stainless

I want to get a top that snaps to the windshield, we fish in the winter so it would be real nice to keep the cold breeze out!

What kind of tops have you seen that are good for that and where can you get them

Thanks

Welcome to the site!!

Tops and enclousers are custom made, I doubt you will find any tht will just fit the boat!

You can buy a Bimini top off the shelf and then have the enclouser made later.

As far as the rail is concerned, you can try to make yourself or have one made?? If you do it yourself fill the rail with sand first, will make bending with out kinking easy!!
But the rail ot these boats really don't do much and I took mine off, filled the holes and did not worry any more!

Hereis mine after the rail was removed, just scroll down a little when you get there.

Default Add to your signature your location, boat year, motor size and year.

It may be possible to up the horses on the 85 close to a 130-140 if parts are available. I'm not the one to suggest how to do this but there are a couple on the board that can.
Bow rails are intended for safety when on the bow, no one needs to be on mine, so I removed them.
A top that snaps to the windshield usually needs to be custom made and at the fitters till complete, unless you are very secure with you intent and measurments.
There are bimini's available (do a search, this site) and one or two mfr's will custom sew zippers, doors, etc.
POST PICTURES, this will help you a lot.

Default Horse power

Up the HP thats amazing. Who would know how?

Sounds like the railing is comming off. I might just
save up and get one of those.?.?..It's like a Tee top
for cuddys with the rod holders on it. Im not sure
which would be good for the "V" though

Any thoughts

The pics of the boat are coming soon, Right now
she's a little insecure about her looks, After all she was free.

Post the year, better yet the model &serial number of the motor in modifications and ask is it possible to increase the 85 to a 140.
Normally it involves changing reeds and carbs, possibly spark stuff also.
Not sure how cost effective it may be, just depends on what good used ones you find.
Look in "Links" at "Fabrication, t-tops,

Aw hell, just go here and look at some possibilities.
I like the radar arch with bimini attached.

The before pictures are just as appreciated as the glamor shots of afterwards.
