I found a good deal on a set of 10" base cabelas lounge seats. I'm 6'2 and want to be able to sit and still be able to see when I drive. Do you think they will be too short? I can always build some new plywood boxes for them but figured I'd ask here first to see if any of you guys have them.

Mulv. You mean one of these. I picked this up for free. In brand new condition. All the wood is solid. But must be a few years old I guess because new seats like this, the base's are now made out of plastic instead of wood.
No ripps or tears, Perfect condition. I thought of using it as an extra seat for the kids, but wanted something in white instead of gray. If you want it, you can have it. I have no place to store it, its in the back of my house now, was gonna put it out for big trash simply because I cant store it anywhere.

Mike, Thanks for the offer, I'm going tomorrow to pick up the new seats, a matching pair. Sell that sucker on Ebay and make a few bucks. I would list it for local pick up only. I want lounge seats for both the passenger and drivers side. I know alot of guys dont like them because of the room they take up but the V20 has so much cockpit space I think I can spare some.

I don't like all the room they take up, but I am out there to fish and fish only.
If you take out people for cruz all day or a light fishing day then I guess they are ok. See if you can just set them in there at first with some carpet holder stuff. It would be nice if you could remove one for fishing and then add one for cursing??

MJ, Good idea. It would be nice if I could come up with some type of removable mount for the lounge, without drilling unnecessary holes in the floor.
Hey Tin, That base is real nice but I bet it costs a few clams. I'm getting the loungers on the cheap, I just hope they are high enough. I really don't want to have to start modifying a brand new seat but I'll make them work one way or the other. |

I misunderstood, thought you were getting pedestal seats.

I had the same problem with my first boat. I am 6'2 also.
I used one of them throw able seat cushions, more cushion, safety and raises you 2" in the chair. Give it a try, you may like it??

Mulv, Hope I can save you some money and aggravation I went through. I to wanted one lounge style seat and I'm also 6 ft.. Ordered West marine best seat for around $349. it was to short base was made of wood, seat assy was plastic. Found a better seat made by B & M with storage compartment door and it is normal chair height and all plastic at cheaper price. OVERTONES showes this in their catolog, they are WAY TO HIGH Priced. I bought mine from Boaters World and I think I paided about $200 If you order from Boters World make sure it is B&M with the side door! Do a search for a old thread I posted for someone else with all the prices and sizes. Crusher
