Default alpha one pee hole

My 170 I/O alpha has a small pee hole on the starboard side of the lower unit. When I run it nothing comes out! I noticed on frayeds pic his was pissing a nice stream. Anybody know if this water cools the lower gearcase or what? It runs nice and cool. Ive tried cleaning it out ,but cant get anything up in the hole very far. Should I drop the lower unit and check it?

its just a drain for the cavity in front of the shift shaft, they all get clogged sooner or later, don't worry about it till the next time you replace the water pump, then dig the crud out

What Spare said. It's not used for cooling.
