I haven't been talking, but I sure enjoy listening to you guys! Looks like I'm going to have to take my V out of dry storeage. The marina is going "condo". In other words if you want a rack, you have to buy a rack. Can't do it on a teacher/coaching salary. I have a '88 Long tandem trailer that is about done. What has everybody got? (Tandem, single, aluminum, galvanized, brakes, no brakes) Need some help. Need to act quick. Thanks also for the good morning thread!

Coach...we just were talkin' about 'em :D ... IMHO if you have short tow to ramp w/no Interstate, single axle w/no brakes is fine...If ya got long tow, especially Interstate, get tandem w/brakes...that's my cut at it...depending on where you live, weight may dictate brakes, axles, etc...ya might wanna look into this if they enforce this kinda stuff...SC does not...til ya get yer butt inna sling... ;D ...
YA MIGHT WANNA READ THRU THIS... http://www.wellcraftv20.com/cgi-bin/...8148;start=0#0

Hey Coach, I don't live too far from ya, I'm in New Bern. I have a tandem axle Magic Trail galvanized trailer, with brakes on 1 axle. Tows very well, and stops pretty good too.
Sucks about your dry storage place, they do anything to make more $$$ these days, especially down that way. I remember when Morehead was a nice town, now, I can't stand to drive down there because of all the traffic. |

Coach don't fear the ramp fear the people that use the ramp! Either way single or tandem for the short haul. If you can find a tandem with bunks and brakes I'd go that way. Good Luck! Billy Mac ;D

probably easier to find one without brakes and install yourself if thats what you decide. theres a nice description in the How To section. Yu gonna need to run through a trailer u pruchase with brakes anyway to make sure they are in proper running condition. also depends on your tow vehicle if u need brakes or not. Not a straight forward situation.

I used a single trailer for 5 years and it was fine, when came time to replaced I went with a Tandam Load-rite No brakes.
What do you have to tow with?? I have a full size truck and have never wanted breaks, Just another thing to fix!

There is just not enough water-access. The most used ramp in the history of the free world was bulldozed this winter to put condos at the tip of Radio Island in Morehead City. It is amazing!
