| "Prop Wizard"

I don't know if this link has been posted before so apologies in advance if it is redundant... I ran across this online program to help with prop selection called "Prop Wizard". I'm just learning about props and diameter, pitch etc... Thought this was interesting. http://www.formulapropeller.com/shop/propWizard.php

Everyones needs are different, This is goodto get you close, you might have to change a size one way or the other. Most here run 17 pitch, I have one on mine now, but I like the get up and go out the hole that the 15 gives me, I carry a lot of weight, so top end is not as important to me.

This may sound dumb but how do I determine the prop I have? I can measure the diameter I suppose, but the pitch? Is it imprinted somewhere? I looked on the fins and saw no engravings that I could find. As you know I just bought the boat and they guy didn't know what specs the prop had, so I just wonder if I need to think about a different prop or not? There aren't any niticeable issues really just curious. It's a Yamaha 150 and currently WOT, trimmed well on flat water it runs to about 5200 rpm and 41-42 mph. He said his preferred cruising speed was about 4000 rpm which is about 29 mph or so. That wizard says max WOT is 5500 rpm, so maybe I am in a good spot already and should leave the prop alone and just buy other stuff ;D ;D

Some props have numbers written on the end where the nut holds it on. Then others have it on the side near the blades....
