Default Hey guys

I've reemerged from hibernation and am back on the water. My '87 200hp Ebay motor runs like a champ here on Lake Texoma. Striper fishing has been very good this year, not for me, but here at the lake. It's back in the 80's and I'll be posting some more pictures soon. I think it's time to change out the sticky throttle/trans cable.

Good to have you back. Glad to hear the new motor's working out well for you too.
Just curious; When the weather gets hot, do you have to troll deep water for them? What type of lures (colors?styles?) or bait (live or dead) aretypically used. I'm wondering if any techniques or equipment are similar to what we use up here in the Northeast. A little different than for us that chase them migrating in the salt. 8)

The stripers at Texoma do go deep when it gets hot. The most effective way to get them is to catch live shad with casting nets. Some guys troll with lures, though. They seem to do better in the Spring when it's not as hot. They'll use 3/4oz jigs with sassy shad on them or some topwater poppers when they're mating. Live shad seems to be the best and most popular, though.

Thanks for the info. Some similar techniques. We probably employ more methods up this way. Live or fresh bait (ie; Herring, Shad, Menhaden, Eels), top water poppers early morning and evening on flat water, swimming or trolling plugs, bucktail jigs, trolling tube&worm (intended to simulate eels) or umbrella rigs, chunk bait, surf, boat. There are many more methods. One of my favorites for the big girls is livelining eels at night. Stripers cannot resist them.
It's like letting MJ loose in a porn shop that take credit. ;D
