Hey guys,
I would like to get rid of my old power winch with wire and replace it with a new manual winch with a strap. What capacity would ya'll recomend. Thanks, Scott

Same here 2 speed 3500 with a 12,000 pound strap from Champion trailer, get the 12,ooo cause he 10,000 is only 2" wide, the 12,000 is 3" wide and fits the winch perfect!!

So.......Does the capacity need to equal the boat weight? I wasn't sure since it is only pulling it up onto the trailer. Thanks for the help.

It should be a little stronger than the boats weight.

boat weight dry is like 2500# so 3500 is about right and the weight the winch is for is dead pull and you have a rolling load
