Isn't this motor a commercial version? Is it a good motor? What differences make it commercial?
I believe it's an early 90's motor.

The OMC 155 Commercial was on the PD before the refit/repower. I say OMC because I thought it was a Johnson (the cover was a Johnson, with a big sea horse on it ;D, but it turned out it was an Evinrude). Mine was a 1989. It was oil injected, but we did away with the injection system because of the problems with it.
That was one tough engine. It was used and abused by our construction crews before I acquired the boat. The guys at Blue Water Marine called it The Miracle Motor, because it just wouldn't quit. Well, eventually it did, but it lasted a lot longer than it should have. It was a noisy sonovagun, and it took all of both batteries to crank it. |
