Default Power Pro

Any of you guys using power pro, if so can you tell me where I am screwing up, I love fishing with the stuff and have 4 reels full of it now. Got the knot set up good but I am having a problem when I try to tie on any flourocarbon leader or even mono leader. It will tangle on me around the fish finder or weight frequently. I have 20 pound Ppro on and the leader materials are all stiffer and no matter what connection type I use ( knot or swivel etc,) I get tangles. ???

Never saw that willy. ??? I use a Palomar tied to a Spro swivel, 3'-4' of 40# Fluoro to a Breakaway Clip or Crosslock. That's a typical Striper rigging for me anyways.

Glad you guys have had better luck with PP. I gave it a fair shake (+3 spools worth) and I don't like it at all. I'm stickin' to my fireline.

I had troubles with PP when it first hit the market. Swore off it for a while but the new stuff seems much better.
I do like Fireline better too though.

I love the power pro for Jigging cod in 400ft of water. CB turned me onto it for fluke. The hook sets are great . . . I have lost some big fish thumb'n the drag

I have tried the fireline as well on my surf casting set-ups....takes a little longer to "break in" than the PP, although, IMO, it casts just as well with LESS wind knots. I like both but I am starting to favor the fireline

I have been using power pro for two seasons, And I set up similar to what you do Phes, I use the fish finders when anchored up and sometimes in the surf with clams. I love how it casts and the feel you get when fluking or working jigs. The problem for me is how limp it is when you try to use a stiffer flourocarbon leader, often when I would pull up to check a bait I find that it has tangled itself or wrapped itself around the weight or fish finder. Never had that before and friends here tell me you will get that when you use a stiff leader and the soft Ppro. Just wondered if there was a way to prevent that. The power pro I use is 20lb

I've had a few of those types of tangles Willy.....not too often...sometimes while casting "up current" with a FF rig you can get fouled or if you're just checking your bait, and reel up to fast, that can do it too. Outside of those few isolated instances you shouldn't be having to many tangles
