Default Re-painting deck w molded nonskid

Well, after about 10 -15 years it s time to repaint my 13 whaler. I was thinking about using raptor or similar products. My question is how much prep must be done before using it. The deck has molded in nonskid so i won t be able to sand it smooth. I was wondering anyone had any experience using it on similar decks

This is what my deck looked like when I redid it with the U-Pol RAPTOR in 2012. Truthfully it looks about the same right now. (Maybe a little dirtier unless I hit it with the power washer...mostly just lazy on my part) I sanded my deck smooth before applying the Raptor so I really don't know how yours will turn out, but it seems to me that it should not be a problem at all.

That looks nice! Is that product spray or brush on? I'm like phat -- my deck is already textured.

It can be either sprayed or rolled. I don't know about brush. The kits come with a free spray gun so that's what I used. My boat used 3 kits. I could probably have gotten away with 2 kits, but I wanted a thicker coat that would not wear out. You can find colors, coverage, etc at their website. https://www.raptorliner.com/

Hope mine looks half that good, D. How is is to walk on with bare feet and knees. Also worried about getting hot . I guess the primary concern i have is once you put this stuff down, its a bear to remove.

I will check out the site

Thanks

It's about as hot as any other deck. Nothing extraordinary. I like walking on it in bare feet. Never tried it on my knees. Not really soft, but there is a barely noticeable spring to it. It's a good sound deadener. You nailed it with the comment about hard to remove. I swear you could use this stuff for body armor.
