Default Additional cabin storage

I'm looking to add some storage to my cabin and wondering if anyone has found some good solution. I have a '74, so I have the single covered center storage area and no shelves around the sides of the cabin.

1) For these older cabins, has anyone come up with a good system for adding storage space around the sides? I've had a hard time figuring out what to do because I don't want to drill into those walls. Right now on one side I have some netting stretched and I have glued hooks onto the walls to hold the bottom of the net, but those always come off.

2) Is there flotation under the left and right sides of the cabin? I was wondering if it could work to cut access into those spaces.

Thanks for any tips.

I don't think they added floatation till about "76 or so. My "75 had none in it.
The plastic milk crate types don't help out any? I've got a couple to keep stuff in the cuddy. Guess it really depends on what you want to store.

Yeah, you don't wanna drill those sides...and the open space under the cabin floor is so small, the work won't be worth it...have you considered a shallow shelf UNDER the cabin deck?...possibly on the sides where it goes back into the flair to the rub rail...it might help you keep things put away...and I wouldn't store heavy items that will weigh the bow down...

I have a 74 as well, and you are correct no foam. My father cut out a hatch on the starboard side and fashioned a lid for it. There is actually more storage under there than you think.
