| Rope replacement

Ok, I am sure this will be an easy one for you guys. I want to replace the rope rub rail on my 1986 V20 CC and have a few questions. I think someone said before that it is 5/8" but is that correct? Second, should I use poly or just nylon line. Third, what is the easiest way to do this. Can I just use a rubber mallet to bang the line in or is there some prep work I should do first. Thanks again, you guys have always come thru for me.

I can't remember the size, however the trick is start at the splash well area or end of the rub rail , soak the rope in soap and water and pull it through. Works perfectly for me. I use a yellow nylon rope found at Lowe's

And make sure whatever you use is UV resistant...Lumber's rail did not wrap the transom...if your's does, it will be longer...
