| Pedestal seat

I was trying to remove the pedestal from the floor, all bolts turn but do not come out. Anybody knows how that pedestal is held on the floor? Obviously doen't look like they used regular wood screws but bolts. Are they any nuts under the floor or those blind nuts? Any ideas hoe to remove those bolts without ripping the floor?

Hi a buddy of mine had the same problem, the seat base was loose enough where he was able to get a saw-zal under the base and sawed them off ..

Once you get the old ones out, you can use these to install the new pedestal.... http://www.ultimatehandyman.co.uk/F&F_SNAP_TOGGLES.htm

I used something very much like those snap toggles when I installed a new pedestal seat on my old 1972 speedliner. Worked great, and mine were made of stainless steel. They come in a variety of sizes. I think I got them through West Marine.

Just remembered the name of the product--it is "Toggler" and they are available in stainless steel from a variety of internet sources. Overtons and West Marine have them, but they are pretty pricey!

in the older boats they drilled a 3" hole under the seat and used a 1/ moon type plate to bolt to also, no be surprised to find it. Just move seat back and put deck plate there after to cover hole
