Default Some pics of work on the Aquasport

Thought I would share some pictures of work I've been doing on my other boat. ( I know I still have to replace the fore deck of my V20 - all in good time). Needed to add a second fuel tank to increase the boats offshore range and also wanted to add an insulated fish box that would hold several tuns of decent size.

I started off building a mold that would end up being a hatch frame for the hole I cut in the deck to access the area where I wanted the fish box.

After several hours of glassing, grinding, sanding and Gelcoat you get something like this....

Then I whipped up a couple of hatches so even a good size tuna can jump right in.

And for the stress test. You can believe that if it can hold me without flexing, it has passed the test

Here's a picture of the tank that is still being worked. I'm going to do the cover in the similar fashion as the fish box, but the with only one hatch that will will be screwed and caulked to seal it.

That looks really nice Doug. Great work as usual. Are those hatches where the "coffin box" used to be? If so, are you going to miss having that huge storage area? I suppose you could shorten the coffin box and place it over the fuel tank???

BGA:

I'm not going to replace the coffin box it takes up to much room. I'm planning on extending the console forward with a large storage area and sitting/live well. But that may have to wait until next year. I want to get the new motor wet first.

Nice work, you may double your range with just the motor switch.

Got the fuel tank frame and hatch made up this week and I shot them with gel coat yesterday. I had to test fit them to see how it going to look when it's done. Still lots to do but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
