Default N. Carolina Vacation....

Gotta getaway for a few days in August. Headed for the Carolina coast w/ the V in tow. Considering Hatteras or Topsail right now. Not truly a fishing vacation, but it is certainly a major factor. Also gonna hit the beach, a little night life, some dining...and this one is an adult trip.

So, where should I head?

Life is good!

Beaufort Inlet would be a GREAT choice...food and great boating for the V!!....

You can't go wrong Slot. Pick one, any one. Hatteras if you want to fish offshore as its the closest to the stream. In August it could be as close as 15 miles off or even closer to get into some mahi or possibly tuna feeshes.

Especially if you've never been, I would recommend Hatteras.

I have spent a lot of time behind Topsail(Sneeds Ferry), its great area, but its shallow, the fishing there isn't that great(thnaks to the shrimp boats), theres not too many places to venture to, and New River Inlet and Topsail inlet are trickey at best. Having just recently visited teh Outer Banks, I would venture there, especially with the V in tow. Get some pointers from Garagenc, he lives not too far from there. If you don't want to hit the banks, The Morehead area or Wilmington area would make good alternatives

I can set you up with some coordinates for great bottom & wreck fishing on the outer banks right now the boys are tearing the dolphin and tuna up. I caught 3 dolphin last weekend just 5 miles off the beach.

Thanks Garage. I'll probably take you up on that. Looking more toward Avon, Frisco, Hatteras as of now.
