Default Finished Non-skid on deck (Durabak)

Spent the last few weeks working on getting the non-skid down on the deck. Spent about a week on all the prep: taking out all of the screws for the hatchs etc, drilling out, marine-tex, sanding.

Then I spent all night Thursday sanding the deck.....cleaned, taped, and painted Friday.

I am very pleased with the results....i cut a few corners that cost me cosmetically in a few areas....but this stuff looks to be really tuff and is going to serve its purpose well!

A few lessons learned:
- wear a mask and have an extender for your roller. I had neither the first day and this stuff has a very strong smell. Got very light headed at one point. The extender helps to keep you from bending over with your nose down in the paint and saves your back!
- If you dont have a confined place to paint....have a air compressor handy. The wind kept blowing random particles into the paint while it was drying and my air compressor did a good job of blowing it off without smearing.
- Don't listen to the weathermen!!!

Here are some pics...these are just from my iphone and it was cloudy and windy outside so the pics don't make it look as nice as it is and it looks dirty from all the leaves etc getting blown on it. I will try to get some better pics sometime this week when it is sunny and I can clean it and will post them.

let me know if you guys have any questions...

not just lightheaded....it just about took me out....i started feeling miserable and had a pounding headache....had to go lay down for a bit before doing the next coat. It has a very potent smell. Even after I was done and letting the last coats dry...I walked by to take a look and the smell was still strong.
