|  Tilt & Trim Question 
			
			Questions guys  A two wire system Evinrude 1987 BLUE and GREEN only from the T&T Note T&T removed from Boat Question how do you test it correctly ? My theory is TILT HOUSING is GROUND, Connect BLUE=SKY(UP) to Positive GREEN= GRASS (DOWN) to Positive is this correct ? |

			ct is correct. The motor is a reversible polarity type, the relays of the tilt and trim do the reversing for you. I can't remember which one was which but lets say blue is up. Connect the blue wire to the positive battery terminal and the green wire to the negative one, the motor tilts up. Reversing these wires makes it go down. Not really sure we are right?? Get an ohm meter and see if you get a reading to either of the wires from the housing. And don't try to jump out ahead of the relays or at the switches, the smaller control wires might not handle the load.

			If you find yours is bad I just ordered one from the one listed first on this link. It actually just came in the mail today and for a cheap after market it seems pretty heavy duty. I like that it uses that composit type hard plastic instead of metal. I went with the cheapest one because the boat is sold but I said I would replace the motor.
