Default PCB trip

well i made to panama city beach this morning...left yesterday at 6:30pm and got here at 9:30am.......i towed the boat down so i was pretty nervous when i left since i've never towed anything this far before lol...i kept it at 65mph thru Va. and NC...then after multiple tire kicks and feeling the hubs i decided to kick it up a notch lol...rest of the way was 70mph ;D smooth ride all the way..no traffic during the night was great...hubs stayed cool to the touch.

now...the gas bill :'( FOUR TANKS OF FRIGGIN GAS!!!!!!! 25 gal tank on my F150 at $70 per tank!!...$280 one friggin way....was only getting 250 miles to the tank...so about 10 miles to the gal...wow that sucked

got my boat parked in the base dry storage lot...the storage spot has a cover on it!!! schweet!...gonna try to stay up the rest of day so i can get a full nights rest and hopefully get out and fish tommorow...plan on fishin the pass and around shell island....for anything that bites!

i'll try to get some pics but i lost my camera's computer cable..gonna try to find another one......might be some crappy cell phone pics.... :-/

i caught 1 small flounder to day on the back side of the island on live bait. the water has cooled down about 5 to 8 degrees with the last cool snap. went out the pass with vic on sat and got totaly skunked, we were only in 50 to 60 ft of water, gotta go deeper to find fish.

good luck
welcome to the hood

Hey Kajun, a former boss of mine used to charter fish out of panama city, I'll see if I can get some numbers for you. * ;) *I know they've got a lot of good wrecks down there.

At least the trip's over and done and you can settle into routine and FEESHIN' your beautiful new area...I know the $$ sounds like a lot, but seems worth it to get a boat down there to me ;) 8) ... many of us are quite envious, I garonteeee!! 8) ...

I looked into the idea of rentin' a boat at Cape San Blas instead of towin' mine down...heck, it's $250 A DAY to rent a decent boat and I'd much rather have mine than a rental ... you did GOOD ;) ;D ...go enjoy it!! ;D ;D ...

Good to know that you made it to PC safe and sound but a little lighter in the pocket.
There is a deep hole inside the bay about 1/4 mile East of the pass. You will see a small point with some Cedar and Palm trees on it. Some nice Spot Tail Bass /Reds and trout have come out of that hole. Good place to go when you can't get outside. Also, fish the ditches around Bay Point. If you throw a cast net and like fresh Mullet look for them around the area where the Shell Island boat docks. When you can get out side try the old Hathaway bridge site. Live Shrimp on light tackle is deadly.
