Default Stripers Again

Well I had told several friends who helped me build my garage that we would go out fishing. We headed out yesterday around 4:30 to fish the MMBT and when we arrived the tied was coming in but not very hard. We trolled around for a few hours with no luck and a tide that would not do anything. Finally I added some weight to fish right on the bottom and found the fish. We caught our limit in about hour and headed back in. Not sure what the deal was with the tides but for about 6 hours while we where out it really never moved much which made fishing a little tougher. So tonight I'll have some fresh striper while I watch MNF.

I saw your post but I have two appointments on that day that I have to keep but it sounds like fun. For a tip if I was going to charter a boat I'd wait a little longer in the season when the bigger stripers are running. Early January through Feb are great times for a charter when ocean season is in full swing. That captain has a good reputaion for catching stripers so you should have a good time and the bigger fish are starting to show up so who knows. Maybe we should have a day when we get some local members here and go out with several boats. I know Blue brings his boat down every year for ocean season and maybe we could find a few more people.

As always I'll keep you guys posted when/if I make it up to Rudee this year. We normally try to go at least twice, fishing for 2 days each time.

Nice job SR.

I'm not worried about it being at the start of Dec, I've caught some nice 40lb+ fish during that time of year.

Devin (Poacher) captn is a friend of mine and we go several times a year with him, striper, bottom fishing.

We always have a good time.

I'll let you know how we do.

I posted on your thread that your timing might be great as the bigger stripers are starting to show.
