Default Tuckertown Lake 8-19-07

My friend Dave was going bass fishing after church yesterday, he invited Joey and I along so we graciously accepted.

We went to Tuckertown Lake, it was 93 degrees when we launched. (Hey, thats 10 degrees cooler than last week) Lauched about 4pm, Dave struck early with a small but lively bass.

Then we fished, and fished, and fished. Joey switched to bluegill fishing out of boredom and slayed em. I bet he caught 50, many hand sized nice ones.

I got my first bite around 8pm, it broke my line. (Laziness on my part, I should have re-tied more often) Then I finally landed one. (maybe 2 pounds) My last bite, right at dark, my favorite fishin rod snapped in two. :'(

It was hot and humid, the mosquitos were thick and big when the sun went down, we landed 2 bass in 4.5 hours, I broke my favorive rod.......it was a great afternoon on the water.

Dave got this one on his second cast, we thought we were in for hot action.

Joey after an hour of no bass bites, about to switch to slaying the bluegills.

The only one that didn't get away for me. (Dave is so happy for me)

And the sun sets on another "dog day".

I love it RB - its great to get on the world wide web and see some local waters!

Does you buddy ever fish the Rock? I've never been a big bass fisherman on the lake but used to slay em on the local ponds when I was a kid.

BR,

Dave seems to be a Badin/Tillery/Tuckertown person, although I have heard him speak of fishing High Rock.

I think Tuckertown and Badin are the closest "big" water to us, that is until "Randleman Lake" opens. But I would guess it will be a couple more years before there is good fishing there.
